Our first beer brewed. Started as our home brew, the original recipe was written by Alan Pugsley the head brewer at Shipyard Brewing in Portland Maine, Co-written by Peter Austin on the phone from England. A simple Pale Ale with 2 row grain, Crystal and wheat. Cascade and Centennial hops make this a popular beer.

LIES, LIES Started out as a request from a young patron of the pub. Hea sked why I don't brew a double IPA? I said “Everyone makes an IPA. I'm not jumping on a bandwagon. The demand grew so I started developing a recipe. To brew a true double IPA would have to use so much grain it would not fit in our mash tun. I pared down the recipe to fit and brewed a traditional IPA. I told a marketing friend the story and she said “You should call Lies, Lies, Lies because you lied about making it. I said “I did not lie I just didn't tell them it wasn't a double IPA. It was then named Lies, Lies. This IPA features 2-Row grain and Maris Otter grain. Cascade, Centennial and Amarillo hops.

This recipe was penned by my friend Dustin Fornier. It was named in honor of Maine's independence from Massachusetts in 1820. 2-row, CARAFOAM, black, chocolate, crystal and Munich malts. Pacific Jade, Saaz and Hallertau hops make this a most drinkable beer and our most popular.

Our simple wheat beer which is used in a variety of beers we produce. 2-Row, Wheat and CARAFOAM grains are used with Mosaic hops. Real Cherries make up this popular fruit beer. Orange zest and coriander find their way into the wheat beer for summer.

A traditional Scottish Ale. 2-row, Munich, Chrystal and CARAFOAM grains. Fuggles and Syrian Goldings hops. Brown Sugar is also added.

This beer was brewed out of frustration with the word Christmas being taken out of the general language surrounding the holiday. White beard does not homogenize the holiday. 2-row, Chrystal, Munich, Chocolate and CARAFOAM grains. Fuggles, Cascade, Tettnanger hops.
